From the BPA Board:
Wrapping up a fantastic year - please accept sincere thanks from the Board for all of your efforts and support of our cause. In the upcoming days, please take a moment to reconcile your student's CHARMS account. As of this writing we are still short about $5800 in unpaid fees - please do not let this slow down graduation processes with the school. Our deadline is May 16th to submit to the school unpaid charges. At that point, it is no longer an issue we can solve ourselves. Your prompt attention to this is also appreciated.
Lots of inquiries about Bricks in the courtyard. We will have more information on this available Tuesday May 3.
Also: you can view the last concert of the year by following this YouTube link.

End of Year Information - instruments and uniforms
Marching uniforms should be dry-cleaned and returned to the band room by May 13th. If you did not travel to Disney, your uniform may have already been turned in. Both concert and marching uniforms must be returned in the red garment bag, on the black hanger that was issue and with the dry-cleaning receipt.
Concert Uniforms (tuxedos/dresses)
Tuxedos and concert dresses uniforms should be dry-cleaned and returned to the band room by May 13th. We will be in business casual when we perform at graduation, so there is no need to wait. Percussion - if you need your black tuxedo pants for the concert this Thursday, May 5th , you will need to wait to take it to the dry-cleaner.
Both concert and marching uniforms must be returned in the red garment back, on the black hanger that was issue and with the dry-cleaning receipt.
If you are using a school owned instrument this year, the rental is free but you must take your instrument to Southeastern to have it evaluated and returned to the playing condition you received it in. This cost is on each individual.
Please make sure all outstanding dues for 21-22 are paid. Contact Brenda Tapia if you have any questions at email@example.com
The first payment for band booster dues for NEXT YEAR are due by the last day of school. The first payment is $250 and is due to the band box or paid online through Charms. Band Booster dues are $750 for 22-23. There is a 5% discount if you pay the entire amount in your first payment ($712.50).
Physicals are NOT required to participate in Marching Band. However, you know that marching band is a physical activity and occurs during the hottest time of year. Know that there are states, school systems, or schools that do require physicals for marching band members, but we are not one of them. If you would like to take the additional safety precaution of doing a physical, they will be offered in the HHS Gym by Huntsville Hospital TOC physicians for $10 on Thursday, May 5th at 3:45 pm. Again - this is a purely optional extra precaution you can take with marching band.
London New Year's Day Parade 2023-24
We announced last Monday that the Huntsville High School Band has been through the selection process and has been invited to the 2023-24 New Year's Day Parade in London at the end of 2023. I encourage you to visit their website at https://lnydp.com/ and think about this opportunity - it would be open to any 23-24 HHS Band student and their family to go. This would involve all current 7th - 10th graders. We plan to make a decision about this invitation in the early Fall of next year with payments for the trip starting later in the Fall. Our participation depends on the number of people that want to go.
To give you an idea of what this trip would look like - we would potentially depart a couple days after Christmas and return around January 4 (about a week in London). The cost is anticipated around $3700 per traveler and is pretty inclusive - notably includes comprehensive travel insurance, 2 people per hotel room in or close to the city center of London, bus transportation in London, select events and tours that we participate in, and breakfast/dinner every day. It would not include lunches and the cost for bus transportation to/from the airport in the US (probably Atlanta, Memphis, or Nashville).
The booster board will take a look at our current offer in full as well as Mr. King and the superintendent before we officially sign a contract with the London Parade.
