What is it?
The North Alabama Band Student Leadership Camp is a 3-day workshop for your high school band student leadership team. It includes a drum major track and a standard student leadership track. This is not for your full band or for individuals that sign up. Part of the experience of this camp is designed for your leadership team to work and learn together as well as interacting with other schools' leadership teams from the area. It will include full group sessions, break out sessions, and team building activities.
Cost
$1800 per school. This cost includes the cost to host these clinicians (honorariums, travel, and housing). It includes close to 20 hours of leadership training for your band students and the supplies and snacks needed for the week. It includes a special clinic by Marching Health on Saturday. It will also include a pizza party at the end of the last day.
All 3 of our fantastic clinicians are part of Music For All's leadership summer symposium. They are providing this clinic for a MUCH reduced rate even though they are actually teaching the camp for MORE hours than Music for All. The leadership camp is $400 per STUDENT in Indianapolis!
Many of you spend this much just to send your drum majors off for drum major camp. They will get this same (or better) training and also include your entire leadership team.
The cost does not include any over night housing or lunch on Thursday or Friday - students have lots of options of nearby restaurants.

FAQs
What if some of my students can't come or can only come to part of the event?
We leave that up to the discretion of the band director as to how to handle that with your group. It doesn't change the fee for the event. Students that are present the entire camp will get the most out of the camp
Can I stay over night if i'm coming from a few hours away?
There are lots of hotel options available within a 10 minute driving distance from Huntsville High School. There is also a state park with cabins close by - Monte Sano State park.
Do directors have to attend?
We encourage band directors to be here as they want to and be as involved as they want to be. It is not required for directors to be on campus, but directors are responsible for their individual students. We recommend following your school system's guidance.
What do I need to bring?
Students should bring something to write on and write with to take good notes. Bring money for lunch and a plan of how to get to and from lunch. Dress is casual keeping in mind that students may participate in different physical activities and exercises including marching. Most to All of the camp will be inside. No instruments needed.
