Things we like

What a wonderful Christmas concert we had with the Huntsville High School Choir! The music and the voices combined for a very unique concert to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Thank you to Stuart Tankersley, Andrew Kirk, and Sarah Coleman for coordinating the efforts to make this a successful event.

Band Midterm Exams
The band midterm is a combination of your audition and the Christmas concert.    Students are not required to attend your band midterm exam time during exam week.  We will not be doing anything during that time.  We encourage you to use that time to study for your other exams at home.   

Band students who are on campus during your scheduled band exam must be in the band room during that time (school rule).  In other words, you can't just be wondering around campus during your band exam.  

The final exams in May are required to attend as we will be rehearsing for graduation during that time.  

January - Beginning of Semester
All students going to London are excused from school on Wednesday, January 3rd and Thursday, January 4th.

After school rehearsals will resume starting on Monday, January 8th.

London Instrument/Equipment Shipping
Detailed shipping instructions were sent out last week in an email to those going to London and a copy of the instructions were handed out to each student.

Thank you for getting shakos in!  They are boxed up and ready to go!

Most equipment was put in the shipping area on Friday.  If you still have something that needs to be shipped, it needs to be in the band room by 8:30 am on Monday at the latest!

Our equipment is tentatively schedule to be picked up on Wednesday, December 13th.

Tuesdays from 4-6 pm and Fridays before competitions from 4-5 pm.

February 10 - Green Hills High School (Nashville Metro) -school bus
February 17 - Bob Jones (Madison, Al) - carpool
March 9 - Columbia Central (Columba, Tn) - carpool
April 6 - SCGC Championships (Bowling Green, Kentucky)-school bus

Summer Schedule 2024
​April 29-May 3  Color Guard Auditions 4-6 pm.
May 10-11  - Marching Percussion Auditions - Fri - 4-8, Saturday 8:30-12:30 (required for all percussion in marching band).
May 28-31 (Tuesday - Friday)  Rookie Camp 8 -12 (required for new members and leadership team), Color Guard Camp.
June 30 - July 2 - Leadership Camp.  Sunday, June 30th will be afternoon/evening.  July 1st and 2nd - all day. (leadership team only)
July 10-12 Make up Rookie Camp 8-12.  Marching Percussion Camp 12-4. (required for percussion in marching band)
July 15 - 19 Band Camp Week #1.  All Day.  (required for all marching band students)
July 22-26 Band Camp Week #2.  All day (required for all marching band students).  Band Camp on July 26th will dismiss at noon.
Juily 29-31 Additional rehearsals 6-9 pm.
July 26 - optional trip to DCI in Murfreesboro for additional cost.
