Spain Park Game Housekeeping

After Game load trucks and depart for HHS - we will send out a REMIND Text message on our way home with our time of arrival.  We estimate getting back to HHS around 12:15 am.

Uniform
Blue Band Polo tucked into khaki shorts.  Short (ankle length) socks, athletic shoes (not converse, sandles, etc).  An athletic shoe primarily of a neutral color is preferred - we've seen some bright red shoes on the field recently and they stick out!!

Dinner Information
Bring money for a fast-food dinner in the food court of the Galleria Mall.

Student Return / Parent pick up information
Please be prompt in picking students up after away games.  We will be sending out a REMIND text message with a time of arrival back at HHS once we depart Spain Park.

Parents:  Please park in parking spots in the parking lot off of Billie Watkins and wait for your student to come to you or get out of your car and meet them.  Parking in the bus loop or on Billie Watkins St. creates a problem for buses getting in as well as a safety issue for students late at night.

If you are not receiving our REMIND text messages, follow these instructions:
Send a text message to the number 81010
In the text message write:
  • For 9th grade parents/students: @2025hh
  • For 10th grade parents/students: @2024hhsb
  • For 11th grade parents/students: @caeg36
  • For 12th grade parents/students:  @bk48fb

Transportation
For away games, students are required to ride the bus to and from the game.  If there is a extenuating circumstance that would necessitate them leaving early for a game or riding home with a parent, please email a director prior to the game.  Students must always check out with a director prior to leaving with a parent.

Students that take the ACT/SAT on a Saturday morning are welcome to check out AFTER halftime of the Friday night game the night before the test.

PIT Crew Members
Our "Panther In Training" program is back!  We are encouraging our 8th graders at HJHS and HCMS to join us as honorary members.     We will also open this to any middle school aged sibling of a current band member that is enrolled in band at their middle school.    Spread the word!  PIT Crew members receive a shirt, HHS band merchandise, get to sit with the band at games, travel to games, and help out the marching band.

Read more about it and apply here:  https://forms.gle/7PjksokZx7K5g9Xz6

BOSTON BUTT FUNDRAISER:  This very important fundraiser is simple, easy and fun.  Download the form and simply return it.  We need each band member to sell 2 delicious pork butts - the order deadline is September 1 - and pick up is September 11 at the Freshman Academy portico.  Your game day meal is ready and you are helping the band!  See article above!  Form download is available!

Upcoming Schedule
First home Game - August 27th vs. Mountain Brook (Milton Frank)
Middle School Night, September 3rd- Game vs. Grissom (Milton Frank).  All 7th and 8th grade students are able to come play with us this night.
September 10th - Away Game against Bob Jones at Madison City Stadium.

Reminders from Previous Newsletters

SCHEDULE CHANGE

The Albertville Game scheduled for Thursday, September 30th has been moved to Friday, October 1st.  This is the game right before Fall Break begins.  The game is still in Albertville.

Band Schedule for the Year
You can access the electronic band schedule by going to Charmsoffice.com and entering the school code HuntsvilleHSBand.    You can see every band date between now and the end of May.  We are still updating some concert band rehearsals, but most of our schedule is there now!

We highly recommend that you sync this calendar to your smart phone.  Mrs. Hudson gave you the information on how to do this at Uniform fitting night.  We also took time to make sure that the student's smart phone calendar was synced during class.
