Attention Parents of Seniors

Class of 2024 parents, you should have received an email from [email protected] several weeks ago with the topic: Band Banquet Video.  If you did not receive it, we may have the wrong contact information for you and need you to send an email to [email protected] with your Senior's full name. Please respond to the email with your photos and information as soon as possible so Marvin can be working on the video.

Spring Concert Pictures

Concert pictures will be taken on April 23rd beginning at 5:30 before the Spring Concert.

Band Banquet

**Mark your calendars** The Band Banquet will be held at Stovehouse on May 17th! The theme this year is 'Musicians through the Ages'. More details will follow as we get closer to the event

Band Fees

To help in planning, here are the band fees and due dates for the 2024-25 school year:
Marching band fees - $750
Color guard fees - $750
Concert only fees - $375
Siblings are at 50% of applicable fee
 
Due dates:

• To receive a 5% discount, pay in full by Rookie Camp (May 28-31).  Marching band discounted amount is $712.50; Concert band discounted amount is $356.25
• If you want to break it up into three payments:

o   1st payment due by Rookie camp (May 28-31)
o   2nd payment due by Band Camp Week #1 (July 15-19)
o   3rd payment due by the Fall Concert (usually early November)

Schedule for the week

Monday-Wind Ensemble - trip to Blossomwood (carpool) during class.  Symphonic Band 4:00 - 5:30 pm.   Tuesday-Off.  Winter Guard 4-6 (last winter guard practice!!)
Wednesday-Off
Thursday-Off.  
Friday-Off (no guard practice)
Saturday-Winter Guard Championships - Western Kentucky University (Bowling Green, Kentucky)

Wind Ensemble
Wind Ensemble will plan to rehearse next after school April 16.

Blossomwood Pep Rally
Wear your band polo or have your band polo on Monday to wear to Blossomwood.  Students should eat first lunch then we will head over to Blossomwood via carpool.  I have asked any students (or parents) who aren't comfortable with carpooling, to let me know and we will make a plan.  The performance is at 1 and we should be back by 4th block or shortly after the beginning of 4th.    

Percussion Ensemble and Chamber music concert - Thursday, April 18th

This concert is coming up soon!  We hope you will join us with one of our favorite concerts of the year at 7:00 pm in the auditorium.  In addition to our percussion ensemble performing, we open this concert to solos, duets, and other small groups to perform!
Students who would like to sign up to perform, need to sign up here.

Solo and Ensemble - May 4th
Solo and Ensemble is another optional opportunity students have.  This year it is Saturday, May 4th at Priceville High School.  Students must provide their own transportation to and from the event.  The cost is $10 per solo and $5 per person, per event for performances involving more than 1 student and will be charged to your charms account.   If you are planning to go to prom that evening, you can request a morning time.

Tri-M Honor Society
Tri-M is a national music honor society.  We have a chapter here at Huntsville that Mrs. Coleman (our choir director) sponsors.  It is a service organization.  Students who participate get a special cord for graduation.

Rehearsal Schedule
Last after school rehearsal will be this Tuesday!  We will not have any more after school practices this year.  We still have auditions after school.

Championship Schedule - This Saturday!
9:30 am Meet at ENTRANCE 3 of Diddle Arena (please let Mrs. Rogers know if you need help finding a ride - we are carpooling) 
12:11 pm - Warm up starts
12:30 pm PERFORMANCE
3:50 pm - FULL RETREAT awards ceremony (all guard members on the floor for awards)

SCGC Color Guard Championships take place at Diddle Arena on the campus of Western Kentucky University (Bowling Green, Kentucky) - E.A. Diddle Arena - Facilities - Western Kentucky University Athletics (wkusports.com)

Recruiting Trips
We are working with our middle schools to perform for the 8th grade students the week of April 15 - 19th.  Details upcoming....  It is most likely early morning performances and we plan to carpool.

Summer Schedule 2024
April 29-May 3-Color Guard Auditions 4-6 pm.
Week of May 6 - Auditions in Class for 24-25 school year ( 9th grade after school)
May 10-11-Marching Percussion Auditions - Fri - 4-8, Saturday 8:30-12:30 (required for all percussion in marching band).
May 28-31 (Tuesday-Friday) Rookie Camp 8 -12 (required for new members and leadership team), Color Guard Camp.
June 30-July 2-Leadership Camp.  Sunday, June 30th will be afternoon/evening.  July 1st and 2nd - all day. (leadership team only)
July 10-12-Make up Rookie Camp 8-12.  Marching Percussion Camp 12-4. (required for percussion in marching band)
July 15 - 19-Band Camp Week #1.  All Day.  (required for all marching band students)
July 22-26-Band Camp Week #2.  All day (required for all marching band students).  Band Camp on July 26th will dismiss at noon.
Juily 29-31 Additional rehearsals 6-9 pm.
July 26-optional trip to DCI in Murfreesboro for additional cost.
