You will need to pack one pair of casual clothes for Friday to change into after the performance. You will need your instrument, music, and all accessories. Percussion needs to bring all small equipment and sticks/mallets (Mr. Kirk will be working with percussion on this). Toiletries for 1 night. Money for 2 lunches. Wind Ensemble Rehearsals 2/13 and 2/20 After some discussion in class and a vote, a good portion of the students in wind ensemble would like to go support our basketball team this Tuesday (2/13) and next Tuesday (2/20) at Jacksonville State in the state basketball tournament. The school is allowing students to go with a signed form and their own transportation to/from the event. The state championship semi finals takes place while we are Memphis, so they would not be able to attend that game. The championship is the Saturday we return in Birmingham. Obviously the team needs to continue to win, but those games are highly likely given their success. For that reason, we have agreed to cancel rehearsal the next 2 Tuesdays with the understanding we will need to add a rehearsal because missing those 2 Tuesdays actually means about 6 hours of rehearsal lost between class time and after school. After addition discussion with them, we plan to rehearse on Monday, February 19th (President's Day - no school) from 9-12. Summer Schedule 2024 April 29-May 3-Color Guard Auditions 4-6 pm. Marching season is officially over, therefore starting January 16, 2024 students may start returning their marching uniforms to the uniform committee. Only the following items should be returned:
Uniform Jacket Gauntlets Shako Red or White garment bag **Exception: Those individuals that were fitted for a marching uniform specifically for the London Parade only, must return ALL items. To include bibbers and shoes. If these items are not returned, the cost of these items will be charged to your Charms account. Uniform jacket should be dry cleaned and dry-cleaning receipt should be pinned to the jacket. If no dry-cleaning receipt is attached, a $15 cleaning fee will be charged to the students charms account. Deadline to have all items returned is January 31, 2024. Volunteers still needed for All-State
We still need volunteers for All State this Friday evening and Saturday! Please use Charms to sign up. Our current need is for the registration tables. Some instruments will have more students than others and their registration will last longer, so the shifts have been split. If you are only available for certain times, please sign up as a floater and make a note of your availability in Charms. Let's get these spots filled to help this event run smoothly!
