Wednesday:  Color Guard Camp 8-3 pm
Thursday: Color Guard Camp 8-3 pm
Friday: Color Guard Camp 8-3 pm

Last newsletter of 24-25
This will be our last big newsletter of the school year.  After today, all of our seniors will be removed from CutTime and you will no longer receive our communications.  Seniors and parents - you are able to remove yourself from the band app communication.   Congratulations, Seniors!!!  We will miss you!  

We will be making sure all our new members are in CutTime and receiving our communication.  We will return with detailed band camp information around the 4th of July and return with our weekly Sunday newsletter as school approaches in August.  You still may receive some communication for marching band students on uniforms and meals for band camp.

Senior Night - Fall 2025
Senior Night for our upcoming marching band seniors will be at the FIRST GAME of the season.  This was a decision made by the football program.  Seniors will be honored with their parents in a pregame ceremony (not halftime).  Please plan accordingly.  More information will be sent out in August.

DCI
We are planning on doing an optional trip to DCI again this year on Friday, July 25th.  The competition has shifted from the MTSU football stadium to Nissan Field in Nashville (where the Titans play).  We plan on dismissing camp after the morning session.  We will depart in the afternoon and return LATE (midnight or later).  We have 50 tickets available on a first come basis.  Any band student or adult family member (siblings too with an adult) can attend - in fact we definitely could use adult chaperones.  

The cost is $56 (this includes bus and ticket).  This is a deal because we get a group rate to attend! The first 50 people to pay on Venmo to HuntsvilleHS-BandParentAssoc (please indicate this payment is for DCI and the names of the people attending) or make arrangements for credits/check directly with Mrs. Tapia ([email protected]) will go.

2025-26 Band Schedule
Here is the full band Schedule.   Changes are possible this summer, but most of the dates are locked into place!  These will be uploaded to our electronic cuttime calendar shortly so that they can show up on your phone calendars.

Tentative Band Camp Schedule and Info
Here is the tentative band camp schedule for those in marching band.  A more detailed schedule will be sent out around the 4th of July.  

All students must have a LARGE (half gallon or larger) water bottle, sunscreen. a backpack or bag to carry your stuff in (an old one is fine!! or the HHS band drawstring bag), athletic shoes (no converse, crocs, or open toed shoes), and school appropriate summer wear for being outside in the Alabama heat.  

Hats, camelback backpacks, and sunglasses are often helpful and encouraged, but not required.

For those that are new and a reminder to others, here are some great band camp tips!

• Acclimating to the heat is important.  Encourage your student to get outside some over the summer - students who stay inside playing video games all summer or do not go outside much in the summer often struggle during band camp.  Walk your dog, mow the lawn, do light exercise, etc.
• Having a large amount of milk for breakfast will often not work out well.  Milk and summer heat don't mix.  
• Go easy on artificial sugar!
• Drink lots of water, Gatorade, Liquid IV, or similar drinks and much less of anything else starting a week BEFORE camp!
• Apply and REAPPLY Sunscreen during camp!!

July 9-11 Marching Percussion Camp (required for all marching band percussion)
July 14-18 Band Camp Week 1 - All Day (required for all marching band students)
July 21-25 Band Camp Week 2 - All day (required for all marching band students)
Friday, July 25th  Optional DCI Trip to MTSU (afternoon and evening)
Tuesday, July 29 Rehearsal  6-9 pm (required for all marching band students)
Thursday, July 31 Rehearsal 6-9 pm (required for all marching band students)
Monday, August 4th First Day of School
